2020 East Cape Tour

Time slips by quickly when organizing events, some would say countdown is has started… just 7 months approx. to “kick off”. The Tour committee has been busy, all accommodation options are arranged, meals and the most important part…the route is finalized. This tour is the longest the Club has arranged in terms of duration at ten days. The committee recognizes this might not suit everyone so talk to Theo or Milton about your preferences. The route will not change but we can create some start/finish options for you.
Over 85 people from our Club, several Australians and 10 from America have registered interest to attend. This represents a total of about 40 cars.
The tour following Art Deco 2020 will drive the Pacific Highway Coastal Road to Gisborne, Hicks Bay via the East Cape lighthouse, to Whakatane, around Rotorua Lakes district, to Mt Maunganui, Tauranga via Pyes Pa Road and include the Coromandel Peninsula. As promised the finale will be a full Hobbiton experience at the movie set for Lord of the Rings with dinner at the Green Dragon Inn. Included in the entry fee are eleven meals, Mercury Bay water tour, A & G Price historical foundry tour and the Hobbiton experience.
